We had a lovely meal, delicious Pork Schnitzel with a fabulous nduja ketchup. Followed up by lovely desserts. Very nice atmosphere in a smart pub. Good, friendly service.
Great little spot. The food was great. I had the Cod others in the party had Sunday roasts, they said it was brilliant. The red cabbage is to die for by the way The service was great. We had 15 pre orders, which probably made it easier on both parts. Zero complaints worth a try.
We have visited here several times and we love it. The food is always amazing. However, tonight when we visited I've felt compelled to write a review as the waiter really made the night. I'm not sure if his name but he was amazing with our little girl. He went out of his way to speak to her and treat her like her own person. He truly was amazing. If he isn't management then he should be. He is an asset to you and we'll be returning soon!
A wonderful evening spent at The Chequers. Phoned and managed to get a table for 2 in the Conservatory area. Very comfortable considering I had an Operation earlier in the day! The service was fantastic and the young gent serving arranged a 'surprise' for me as couldn't decide between the cod fillet or pork belly Ended up having the pork belly which was very scrummy. Unfortunately, I didn't do the Chef justice as was unable to finish. The mashed potato just wouldn't fit. Hubby did his usual of 2 starters. The homemade soup and garlic prawns were a complete hit A fabulous postoperative dinner and would love to go back to enjoy the Sunday roast as it looks amazing!
May 2024 update: the food is still absolutely awesome! But I did miss the apple crumble September 2023 update: yep, still top class April 2023 update: still top class food! The specials board was amazing tonight (Chilli Beef starter - hmmm ) It was my second visit here in the last two weeks, and I can safely say it's my favourite place to eat in this neck of the woods. The service is top notch, friendly and welcoming. The food is great, tasty, and at a very reasonable price. Tonight I had a diet coke, white coffee veggie lasagne and a side of seasonal veggies for just over 22, absolutely hit the spot after a long day at work! Pukka Good access in and out of the pub, plenty of seating, nice and warm and a great ambience within. Booked for a birthday lunch. Welcome was lovely. Happy Birthday message made a big impression. Food was excellent, steak perfectly cooked, fish and chips lovely. Would highly recommend.
Booked this pub as a halfway house between two groups. It was a total punt based on the website and reviews but we loved it and will likely be back. Great food (highly recommend the cheesecake!), good portion sizes, lovely staff and atmosphere, dog friendly. A definite thumbs up from all in our group.
Went for fixed price 4 course valentine meal. Simply excellent. Superb cooking, great menus, excellent service. This place takes some beating. Generous portions, everything fresh and wholesome. Smashing beer, price points for the overall package is bang on. Keep it up Love Guinness and Latte. ( Ken&Fi)
